Why I signed up for the Crossfit Open this year. It isn't about being the best, the strongest or the fittest. It is about showing my ego that it is O.K. just to be O.K. It is about all the hard work I have done NOT to quit. It about all the hard work I will continue to do because of the love of the sport. It is about being MY BEST without being THE BEST. It is about a community of people with the same values as me, who make me better, keep me accountable and help me be stronger every day.
Breakdowns usually lead to breakthroughs.
When I stopped denying and numbing my feelings, and accepting them for what they were without shame or guilt, I started to accept myself and trust myself again, just as I am. Right here. Right now.
The boundary to what we can accept is the boundary to freedom.
Here is how I found my freedom.
